Tours & Journeys
Starting points, not packages
Every route here is drawn from years on the ground across Ethiopia. Treat them as a draft — the version you travel will be redrawn around you.
Ways to Travel
Choose how you'd like to travel
Every journey can be private. Pick a style to see the routes built for it.

Sort by the kind of travel you're after — any route here can be stretched, shortened or joined with another.
How We Work
Constant across every route here
Run by people who live here
An Addis Ababa-based team of designers, guides and drivers who have worked as a unit for years — not a distant office booking through a local subcontractor.
Built from a blank page
No route on this site is fixed. Every itinerary starts from your pace, your interests and your tolerance for altitude, and is drawn from there.
Doors that don't open for everyone
Curators, clergy, archaeologists and artisans who make time outside normal hours, through relationships built over years rather than booking fees.
One point of contact, start to finish
A single named designer follows your trip from first enquiry to final departure, with a direct line open for the whole journey.
Common Questions
How private journeys work
Pricing, fitness, group size and what is included — before you fall in love with a route.
Are these fixed group packages?
No. Every journey on this site is a private starting point. We reshape days, lodges and pacing around you — most guests end up between two catalogue routes rather than booking one unchanged.
How does pricing work for tailor-made trips?
Some shorter routes show a from-price; many are quoted individually because lodge availability, domestic flights and group size change the total. We send a clear line-item quote before any deposit.
What group size do you work with?
Most private trips run for two to eight guests. Solo travellers and larger family groups are welcome — we adjust vehicles, rooms and guiding accordingly.
How fit do I need to be?
It depends on the route. Historic-route days can stay gentle; Simien and Bale treks need steady walking at altitude. Tell us your comfort level and we will avoid or include the harder legs honestly.
Do you include domestic flights and park fees?
Inclusions are listed on each tour page. Domestic flights, park fees, guides and most meals are usually included on longer circuits; international flights, visas and travel insurance are not.
Can children join?
Yes on many cultural and city routes. High escarpment treks and the Danakil are better for older teens and adults. We design family pacing and rooming from the first draft.
