Simien Escarpment Trek
Camp to camp along the northern rim — Sankaber, Geech, Chenek — with the drop never more than a few steps away.
The Journey
4 nights, designed around the hours that matter
The classic Simien line, walked from Gondar and back in five days. Mules carry the loads, a park scout and camp cook travel with you, and each day ends a little higher than the last, so the altitude arrives gradually rather than all at once.

Day by Day
The itinerary, as it usually runs
A working draft rather than a fixed schedule — we move days around for weather, festivals and how you are feeling.
Day 1
Arrive Gondar
The royal enclosure in the afternoon light, then a kit check and route briefing with your mountain guide over dinner.
Day 2
Debark to Sankaber · 3,250 m
Two hours north to the park office at Debark to collect your scout, then a first gentle walk along the rim from Buyit Ras, where gelada troops graze right up to the path.
Day 3
Sankaber to Geech · 3,600 m
Around six hours and thirteen kilometres along the escarpment to Jinbar Falls, then up through barley terraces to camp. For those with legs left, a sunset walk to Kedadit.
Day 4
Imet Gogo & Inatye to Chenek · 3,620 m
The longest and best day: Imet Gogo at 3,926 metres, the ridge over Inatye at 4,070, and a long descent through giant lobelia to the cliffs at Chenek.
Day 5
Bwahit & return to Gondar
A dawn walk toward the Bwahit pass, the best ground in the park for walia ibex, before the drive back to Gondar by late afternoon.
