Day by Day
The itinerary, as it usually runs
A working draft rather than a fixed schedule — we move days around for weather, festivals and how you are feeling.
Day 1
Addis Ababa
Arrival, the eucalyptus forest and view from Entoto, and Lucy at the National Museum.
Day 2
Bishoftu's crater lakes
An hour south-east to the crater lakes, with birds on the shore and a slow lakeside lunch.
Days 3 – 4
Awash National Park
Game drives for oryx and gazelle, Awash Falls tumbling into its gorge, and an afternoon in the warm, palm-shaded pools of the Filwoha hot springs.
Day 5
Back to Addis & a cooking class
The drive back to the capital and an afternoon learning to pour injera with a local family.
Day 6
Menagesha forest & departure
A short walk under the giant junipers of Menagesha, protected for five centuries, before your evening flight.
